MS/HS THEATRE
Theatre is a powerful tool for self-expression, critical thinking, and teamwork building. This year-long synchronous course offers a comprehensive exploration of the theatrical arts. Students will view an exciting instructional video, complete a related assignment, and participate in a 55-minute live class.  Students will develop a strong understanding of dramatic literature, acting techniques, and the technical aspects of theatre production. Through in-depth analysis of plays, character development exercises, improv, and collaborative projects, students will strengthen their communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The course makes connections between the theatre arts and history, exploring how dramatic works and productions can mirror society. Students will have the opportunity to practice audition techniques and perform in scenes, learn about careers in theatre (and even film!), and gain exposure to the technical elements of theatre, including lighting, sound, and set design. Whether you aspire for a professional career in the arts or simply seek a creative outlet, this course provides a solid foundation for theatrical exploration and personal growth.
