Welcome to the Creative Arts Class! Every elementary-age MIPS student will have the option of choosing 2 programs to study for Creative Arts. Our MIPS Creative Arts program options are Music, Theatre, and Art. Each Creative Arts program is one semester long, allowing students to participate in 2 different Creative Arts courses throughout the year. We are confident that each of our students will have an amazing time in their Creative Arts classes as they discover their creative potential!
Welcome to Music Class! Our main goal is to engage each student in fun and exciting musical activities and to help them develop a strong foundation in music. We will explore different aspects of music through singing, playing, movement, creating, reading, and listening. In this class, we will learn music from various cultures, create our own music, practice basic rhythm skills, improve our singing abilities, and much more!

Welcome to Theatre Class! Are you ready to embark on a magical journey of imagination and creativity through our Creative Arts Theatre courses?
Using imaginative play, acting exercises, and technical exploration, students will develop confidence, teamwork, and self-expression skills. From becoming brave superheroes to enchanting queens, students will explore a world of endless possibilities. We will learn about lighting, sound, and set design, while discovering the powerful impact of the arts on ourselves and our community. Welcome to Art Class! Get ready to be inspired to create and express yourself! This course is all about self expression, inspiration, and boosting self-confidence in creativity. Budding artists will explore the elements of art, learn about artists, and find inspiration in the world around them to create their own artwork. Students will develop fine motor and critical thinking skills, flex their creativity muscles, and expand their appreciation for global communities. Emphasis will be on techniques in drawing and painting, while exploring the Elements of Art such as line, space, color, shape, and texture. Connections will be made to all subject areas, from Math, to Science, to Language Arts. Students will also develop their observational skills to reflect on and interpret works of art.
