Welcome to Piano Studies! At MIPS, we offer unique training for students in 5th-12th grades, catering to Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced piano students. Whether you've always wanted to learn how to play the piano or are seeking to enhance your skills as a pianist, we are here to help you!
All MIPS piano students receive FREE one-on-one virtual piano lessons with an expert instructor every week. Alongside the private lessons, piano students are required to attend a 30-minute live Google Meet class each week with students at the same level of piano study. Furthermore, additional instruction is provided through short instructional videos assigned every week. We encourage all our piano students to become well-rounded musicians through the study of quality music, theory, sight reading, and ear training. It is mandatory for all piano students to have a digital or acoustic piano with a minimum of 76 keys. However, MIPS offers full-size 88-key digital pianos for rent at a low monthly rate. |
BEGINNING PIANO (5th-12th Grades)
The Beginning Piano course consists of 3 levels of study. Level One is designed for students with little to no experience, while Level Two and Level Three are for students who typically have 1-2 years of piano training. Students in the beginning piano program are expected to practice for at least 15 minutes a day, 3-4 days each week in order to show progress and be ready for private lessons. Your MIPS Piano instructor will help determine the appropriate level for you. INTERMEDIATE PIANO (7th-12th Grades) The Intermediate Piano course also comprises 3 levels of study. Level Four is for students with at least 3-4 years of piano training, while Level Five and Six are for students with strong ability and motivation, typically having 5-6 years of piano training. ADVANCED PIANO (10th-12th Grades) Advanced piano is a self-paced course designed for accomplished student pianists aiming to prepare for collegiate piano study. Students at this level typically have 8+ years of piano training. |
